Programme 3
Invited company : Folkå / 2025 Creation

CCN - Ballet de Lorraine

07 – 09 May 2025

For the last programme of the season, Maud Le Pladec has invited NDT2, a company based in The Hague (Netherlands) that has built up an international reputation for choreographic research and collaborates every season with some of the greatest contemporary dance choreographers of our time.

This evening will be an opportunity to rediscover the world of Marcos Morau, who collaborated with the CCN in 2016 on the creation Le Surréalisme au service de la révolution. The piece Folkå is an evocative journey that celebrates life and the ritual of transformation. This fascinating piece evokes a collective force that takes us on a mystical journey through the human psyche.

"Folkå acts as a ceremony of our time that looks to the past to remind us that we continue to celebrate life, through mystical rites, here bathed in the fury of contemporaneity, where we continue to be part of an endless cycle. Folkå is a song to life, a night of offering and celebration.
Marcos Morau

In the second half, British choreographer Botis Seva, with influences from hip-hop, contemporary dance and physical theatre, will present a piece exploring the role of criticism and the reaction it provokes in the creative process.

"As human beings and as artists, we need to get back to the real reason we started making plays and stop worrying about what people say. Instead, we should focus on the most important goal: I believe we are here to bring a light into the darkness of this world."
