The serious side to artistic involvement lies in the performers' ability to have fun while working hard. The members of the Opéra national de Lorraine's citizen children's chorus know how to juggle with all the dimensions of stage and musical performance and live the artistic experience like a festival that needs to be scrupulously organised and rehearsed. The effort that goes into producing a show is indeed called “artistic work”. But when it becomes a collective effort brought to life on the stage of the Opera in front of a enchanted audience, all that remains is the magic of a job well done!
The useless potion is a project that continues to develop the artistic abilities of children aged 8 to 14 in singing and acting. Since 2019, Opéra national de Lorraine's seasons have all been marked by the involvement of children from schools and colleges in collaborative productions. And since 2023, with the introduction of a travelling children's chorus, the Opera has been venturing into an even more sophisticated artistic training programme. With The useless potion, the children will have the task of discussing, appropriating and transforming a work from the great operatic repertoire. Entertainment guaranteed!
