Voix Nouvelles

Lyric revelations of the year / Génération Opéra

17 Jan 2025 | 20 h 00

The Génération Opéra association aims to encourage the discovery, professional integration and promotion of young opera singers. Its members include the leading opera directors in France, Belgium and Switzerland, and it also encourages the creation of synergies between opera houses.

Since 1988, the Voix Nouvelles competition has brought to light many talented young singers who are now recognised on the international opera scene. Among them, audiences in Nancy have already been able to discover Hélène Carpentier in her interpretation of Strauss's Vier letzte Lieder alongside our Orchestra, and Léo Vermot-Desroches in the roles of Truffaldino (L'Amour des trois oranges) and Arbace (Idomeneo).

In 2022, Opéra national de Lorraine opened its doors for a preliminary round of the competition for the Grand Est region. This season, audiences will have the pleasure of discovering, or rediscovering, two prize-winning singers from the competition's 2023 edition, Juliette Mey and Héloïse Poulet (Clorinda in La Cenerentola).
