Who doesn't know the story of little Peter, a disobedient and courageous young lad who ends up catching a wolf that has wandered a little too close to his house?
Prokofiev's stroke of genius in composing this musical tale is to make it a real moment of discovery of the Orchestra's instruments, by associating each of them with the characters in the story and their personalities, from the warm spontaneity of the strings for Peter to the lugubrious and disturbing fanfare of the horns for the wolf. But also by knowing each time how to find the individual musical theme that places poetry and emotion above educational intent.
Except that... this time, by entrusting this story to the mischievous Bogdan Hatisi, it is as if the wolf was left to tell - at last! - his own version...
